4 Kings Distillery has been a work in the making that goes back over 25 years. I have been an entrepreneur at heart all of my life starting and operating various businesses for over the past 34 years. I started my first business in 1990, and then a second one in 1995. These businesses are mostly in the service field, yet the one thing I always wanted to do was manufacture something, taking raw material and creating a product that I could be proud of and sell.

In 2004 I started my third business which was an old rundown industrial property that was once The Lockport Felt Mill. The plan was to turn it into a storage and business Park; which I have done and continue to do for the last 20 years. Yet, in the back of mind when I bought this property was the “Big Idea” of manufacturing “something”.

Move forward 20 years and the opportunity presented itself. A friend of mine knew I was interested in starting a brewery business and told me of a Distillery that was for sale and thought I might be interested; to which I was! I called one of the owners of this Distillery. We tried to work out an agreement, but due to the banking world I was unable to secure a loan to buy this turn-key operation. It was a blessing in disguise. The business would have cost me more than I wanted to spend and the equipment was small – old – and antiquated; which wouldn’t produce what I wanted to produce.

I kept my focus and decided to use the property that I already owned and created an amazing space that houses 4 Kings Distillery LLC today; with-out a giant mortgage. I am able to make as much product as I wish without limits.

Manufacturing is truly a love relationship that I have been looking for. I love to dream – vision, and work hard to create a superior product! We have an amazing location – our building is over 130 years old and has such great character while the property sits along a beautiful creek of running water.

4 Kings Distillery is a NYS Farm distillery in the Right -To- Farm community of Newfane NY. All grains that are used in our products are purchased from local farmers in the Western New York area. Honey and Maple syrup is purchased from local producers. We live in New York so we support New York businesses.

We are also in a building that was built by The Lockport Felt Mill. The mill was built here in Newfane in 1891 and was one of the largest producers of felt and employed many folks. There is great history in this building and being able to bring manufacturing back to life right here is awesome. Come visit us and you will be able to read up on some of the great historical facts of the beautiful area of Newfane and what was once a great business, The Lockport Felt Mill.

We have a passion for business and making the best products we can, and as we continue to hand craft amazing small batches of spirits, our desire is for people from all areas to come and experience what we have hand crafted here – “Great Spirits – Small Batches – Superior Taste” We want to share our passion for flavorful spirits, while meeting new people, and growing a business in our community of Newfane. It is our goal to enjoy and grow this new business and its product line creating amazing flavorful spirits, and meeting wonderful folks who will come and visit us from all over New York and beyond, and experience all we have to offer here.
